Kuala Lumpur, 21 July 2026 – J.P. Morgan has raised its forecast for Malaysia’s economic growth in 2026 to 5.3%, citing stronger-than-expected activity during the first half of the year, resilient domestic demand and continued support from exports and investment.
The revised projection places Malaysia’s expected expansion above Bank Negara Malaysia’s official forecast range of 4% to 5% and reflects growing confidence that the economy can maintain momentum despite external uncertainty and elevated global energy costs.
