Samsung Biologics Launches US$1.8 Billion Bid for PolyPeptide to Expand Obesity Drug Manufacturing

Seoul, 20 July 2026 – Samsung Biologics has agreed to acquire Swiss contract drug manufacturer PolyPeptide Holding AG in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately 1.46 billion Swiss francs (US$1.81 billion), marking one of the largest overseas acquisitions by a South Korean biotechnology company.

The offer values PolyPeptide at 44.31 Swiss francs per share, representing a premium of about 6.1% over the company’s previous closing price.
