MARC Ratings Raises Malaysia’s 2026 GDP Growth Forecast to 5.1%

Kuala Lumpur, 20 July 2026 – MARC Ratings has raised Malaysia’s 2026 gross domestic product growth forecast to 5.1% from 4.6%, reflecting stronger-than-expected economic momentum during the first half of the year and sustained expansion across key industries.

The revised projection follows Malaysia’s estimated economic growth of 5.8% in the second quarter, accelerating from 5.4% during the preceding three months. This brought first-half growth to approximately 5.6%, compared with 4.5% during the corresponding period of 2025.
