Bangkok, 21 July 2026 – Financial losses linked to online scams across the Asia-Pacific region may have reached as much as US$114.1 billion in 2025, highlighting the rapid expansion of transnational cyberfraud networks and the growing economic threat facing households, businesses and financial institutions.

Estimated losses across East Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand ranged between US$88.3 billion and US$114.1 billion during the year. The upper estimate was more than three times the approximately US$37 billion previously calculated for 2023.
