Scotland, 10 July 2026 – Dato’ Sri Dr Haji Irmohizam Ibrahim, Group Managing Director of World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, has completed his sixth master’s degree after graduating with a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from the University of the West of Scotland.
The degree was conferred during the UWS Graduation Ceremony held on 9 July 2026 at Paisley Abbey in Scotland, where it was presented by UWS Chancellor Dr Yekemi Otaru.

The latest academic achievement adds to Irmohizam’s extensive education portfolio, which includes one bachelor’s degree, six master’s degrees and three PhDs. He is currently pursuing his fourth PhD in Business Administration at City University Malaysia.
For Irmohizam, the MBA with Distinction reflects more than personal achievement. It underscores his belief that leadership must evolve continuously in response to rapid global change, particularly as artificial intelligence, shifting supply chains and geopolitical developments reshape business decisions.
He said leaders can no longer rely solely on past experience in an environment where industries are changing quickly and uncertainty has become a constant part of business strategy.
“The world is changing at a pace unlike ever before. Artificial Intelligence is transforming industries, global supply chains are constantly evolving, and geopolitical developments increasingly shape business decisions,” he said.
“In such environment, leaders cannot rely solely on past experiences. We must continuously learn, challenge our perspectives, and strengthen our ability to lead organisations through uncertainty,” he added.
As Group Managing Director of WTCKL, Irmohizam has led the organisation’s transformation while strengthening strategic partnerships with stakeholders across Malaysia, the region and international markets.
His leadership has consistently focused on innovation, organisational resilience and collaboration, which are also reflected in his commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Irmohizam also serves on the Board of Directors of the World Trade Centers Association, which is headquartered in New York. His role connects WTCKL to a global network of trade, investment and business-event institutions.
He said the pursuit of knowledge should not be viewed only as an individual accomplishment. Instead, it represents an ongoing commitment to strengthening expertise, broadening perspectives and enhancing leadership capabilities.
The newly completed MBA further reinforces his expertise in business administration, governance, law and strategic leadership.
WTCKL said the achievement also supports his broader commitment to serving the organisation, strengthening Malaysia’s position in the global business events ecosystem and contributing to sustainable national economic development.
The press release also included graduation images from Paisley Abbey, showing the formal conferral ceremony and group photos with university officials and graduates, highlighting the international setting of the academic milestone.
As global institutions continue to navigate a more complex operating environment, Irmohizam hopes his academic journey will inspire professionals, corporate leaders and younger Malaysians to embrace lifelong learning as a strategic investment in personal excellence and national progress.

Irmohizam Ibrahim’s latest academic milestone carries significance beyond the completion of another degree.
For Malaysia’s corporate sector, it reinforces an important leadership message: continuous learning is becoming a strategic necessity. In an environment shaped by artificial intelligence, geopolitical shifts, supply-chain disruption and sustainability demands, leaders must keep updating their knowledge base.
This is especially relevant for business events and trade facilitation. Organisations such as WTCKL operate at the intersection of commerce, diplomacy, investment, conferences and global networking. Effective leadership in this space requires both operational experience and the ability to understand wider economic shifts.
The completion of an MBA with Distinction also strengthens the link between professional leadership and academic discipline. Business administration, governance and strategic management are increasingly important for institutions that need to remain competitive in a fast-changing regional landscape.
For younger professionals, the message is clear. Academic and professional development should not stop after entering the workforce. Lifelong learning can help individuals remain adaptable, relevant and resilient across different stages of their careers.
WTCKL’s position as a business events hub also makes leadership development important for Malaysia’s broader economic agenda. Stronger institutional leadership can support trade promotion, international partnerships and Malaysia’s visibility within the global meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions ecosystem.
Irmohizam’s achievement therefore reflects a wider theme for Malaysian professionals: education is not merely a credential, but a long-term investment in leadership capacity, institutional growth and national competitiveness.
