Bank Negara Says Future OPR Adjustments Will Remain Data-Dependent

Kuala Lumpur, 10 July 2026 – Bank Negara Malaysia said any future adjustment to the overnight policy rate will remain data-dependent, as the central bank continues to balance Malaysia’s resilient growth outlook against external risks, inflation conditions and global financial-market uncertainty.

The central bank kept the OPR unchanged at 2.75%, maintaining a policy stance it considers appropriate for supporting sustainable economic growth while preserving price stability.
