SC Calls for Next Generation of Shariah Advisers to Strengthen Malaysia’s Islamic Capital Market

KUALA LUMPUR, 20 May 2026 – Securities Commission Malaysia Chairman Dato’ Mohammad Faiz Azmi has called for a stronger pipeline of Shariah professionals to support the continued growth and credibility of Malaysia’s Islamic capital market, warning that succession and talent development are becoming urgent priorities for the industry.

Speaking at the Shariah Mentorship Programme Graduation Ceremony, Dato’ Mohammad Faiz said the programme plays an important role in cultivating future Shariah professionals through classroom learning, practical industry exposure and mentorship by members of the SC’s Shariah Advisory Council and established Islamic finance figures.
