MOUNTAIN VIEW, 20 May 2026 – Google has unveiled a wider suite of artificial intelligence tools at its I/O developer conference, strengthening its Gemini ecosystem with new subscription options, agentic AI features and multimodal video capabilities as competition intensifies with OpenAI, Anthropic and Meta.
The latest announcements signal Google’s effort to turn Gemini from a chatbot into a deeper AI operating layer across Search, Workspace, Chrome, YouTube and developer tools. At the centre of the update is Gemini 3.5 Flash, a faster and more cost-efficient model that Google is positioning for broader consumer, developer and enterprise use. Reuters reported that Google also previewed Gemini 3.5 Pro, while promoting Gemini 3.5 Flash as a cheaper model for business customers.
