Malaysia and Korea Deepen Biogas Cooperation as Carbon Neutrality Push Gains Momentum

Kuala Lumpur, 15 June 2026 – Malaysia and South Korea are moving to deepen cooperation in biogas development, marking another step in the region’s effort to convert organic waste into renewable energy while supporting longer-term carbon neutrality goals.

Korea Environment Corporation, known as K-eco, and Malaysian Bioeconomy Development Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen collaboration in biogas development. The agreement creates a structured framework for technical cooperation, policy exchange and sustainable bioenergy projects between both countries.
