China Pushes Back After US Adds Major Tech Firms to Pentagon Military-Linked List

Beijing, 14 June 2026 – China has criticised the United States after Washington added several major Chinese technology, electric-vehicle and clean-energy companies to a Pentagon list of firms alleged to be linked to China’s military, deepening tensions between the world’s two largest economies.

China’s Commerce Ministry said it was strongly dissatisfied with the move, which placed companies including Alibaba, Baidu, BYD, NIO, Trina Solar and JA Solar Technology on the US Department of Defense list. Beijing described the action as unfair treatment of Chinese firms and urged Washington to withdraw the measure.
