Carney said the United States’ move to restrict access to Anthropic’s latest AI models underlined the danger of relying too heavily on a limited number of American technology providers. His remarks came after Anthropic took its newest models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5, offline to comply with a US directive aimed at preventing foreign access to frontier AI capabilities.
