FBM KLCI Jumps 16 Points at Midday as Banking Stocks Lead Regional Rebound

Kuala Lumpur, 27 July 2026 – The FBM KLCI advanced strongly during Monday’s morning session, tracking gains across several regional markets as investors returned to Malaysian banking heavyweights amid improving geopolitical sentiment and lower crude oil prices.

At the 12.30pm break, the benchmark index had gained 16.17 points, or 0.95%, to 1,717.19 from Friday’s close of 1,701.02. It opened 2.63 points higher at 1,703.65 before trading between 1,702.35 and 1,718.31.
