Singapore and World Bank Launch Carbon Markets Programme to Strengthen High-Integrity Climate Finance

SINGAPORE, 21 May 2026 – Singapore and the World Bank Group have launched the Singapore Carbon Markets Programme, a new initiative aimed at tackling barriers that continue to slow the development of credible carbon markets and climate-finance flows.

The programme was launched at the Innovate4Climate conference held in Singapore from 20 to 22 May 2026, the World Bank’s annual platform focused on carbon pricing and carbon markets. The initiative forms part of the World Bank Group’s strategic partnership with Singapore and reflects the city-state’s ambition to strengthen its role as a trusted carbon services and trading hub.
