Kuala Lumpur, 9 June 2026 – Malaysia is targeting nearly US$200 billion in electrical and electronics exports in 2026, as the country’s semiconductor and technology supply chains benefit from rising global demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure, automotive electronics and advanced digital hardware.

The stronger outlook reinforces Malaysia’s position as one of Asia’s most important electronics manufacturing bases. The country has long been a major player in semiconductor assembly, testing and packaging, but the latest export momentum points to a broader opportunity as global companies diversify supply chains and expand AI-related production capacity across Southeast Asia.
