SINGAPORE, 7 January 2026 — Global business communications specialist 8×8, Inc. has acquired Maven Lab, a Singapore-based provider of mobile marketing and enterprise messaging solutions, to bolster its customer engagement capabilities across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. The deal marks a strategic step in 8×8’s effort to deepen its footprint in digital engagement services for enterprise and public-sector clients.
The acquisition expands 8×8’s product portfolio in communications-platform-as-a-service (CPaaS) and enterprise customer experience (CX) solutions, enabling organisations across industries, from finance and e-commerce to healthcare and logistics — to run secure, high-volume customer interactions with greater automation, omnichannel support and regional agility.
Strengthening Messaging And Engagement Capabilities Across APAC
Maven Lab has built a reputation in APAC for its cloud-based engagement platform, Moobidesk, which integrates messaging, notifications and customer interaction workflows. By integrating this technology into the broader 8×8 Platform for CX, 8×8 aims to deliver a more scalable and unified engagement engine that can handle a wider range of use cases, from real-time notifications to complex, multi-stage customer journeys.
“Maven Lab brings deep experience delivering packaged, outcome-oriented messaging solutions that customers can deploy quickly,” said Sylvain Chaperon, General Manager for CPaaS at 8×8. “Together, we will expand our ability to help APAC organisations run secure, high-volume customer communications across more channels, with expanded regional coverage and support.”
Executives from both companies highlighted the deal’s potential to accelerate digital transformation initiatives among regional enterprises that increasingly demand secure, scalable platforms to manage customer engagement across messaging, voice, automation and analytics.
Regional Impact And Strategic Rationale
The acquisition comes as demand intensifies across Asia for enhanced communication infrastructure that supports omnichannel engagement, a trend driven by rising digital adoption, mobile-first consumer behaviour, and enterprise requirements for secure interactions at scale. Organisations in regulated sectors such as banking, travel, government services and healthcare, in particular, are prioritising platforms that combine compliance, security and advanced automation.
With access to 8×8’s international network, data-centre footprint and enterprise-grade security suite, Maven Lab’s technology is expected to scale more rapidly into regional markets including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and beyond. Combined teams are exploring enhancements to extend engagement capabilities, including richer interaction experiences, smarter automation workflows and support for emerging messaging channels.
By leveraging a combined technology stack, 8×8 and Maven Lab aim to help organisations improve throughput, strengthen data protection, and accelerate time to customer value across a broader set of use cases, from proactive notifications and alerts to complex conversational automation.
