Nestlé Malaysia has inaugurated production of NESCAFÉ Espresso Concentrate at its Sri Muda factory in Shah Alam, transforming the site into a regional hub for the booming cold‑coffee market. The new facility will meet growing domestic demand while exporting to Singapore, Oceania, the Middle East, and with potential future expansion across ASEAN and Europe.
The Sri Muda factory, already central to Nestlé’s ready-to-drink operations, has received over RM500 million in upgrades over the past decade, elevating it to one of Nestlé’s most advanced beverage manufacturing sites globally. It also serves as a key halal-certified production hub for the group.
CEO Juan Aranols described the launch as a significant milestone, highlighting the opportunity to capture dynamic growth in cold coffee—especially among younger consumers exploring coffee culture. Coffee Business Executive Raef Labaki emphasised that the product is tailored for the premium, café-style experience at home.
Nestlé underscores its commitment to sustainability: the new concentrate is packaged in bottles made from 100% recycled PET with carbon-black-free caps. The Sri Muda plant has already phased out over one billion plastic straws since 2019 and adopted rPET for all its bottled drinks across ASEAN.
Over the last five years, Nestlé Malaysia has invested nearly RM1.5 billion to strengthen its local manufacturing and logistics infrastructure. Current expansions include a logistics hub in Port Klang (targeted completion in 2026) and major upgrades at its MILO plant in Chembong and the Batu Tiga site.
