China Expands Export Curbs on Japanese Entities as Tokyo-Beijing Tensions Deepen

Beijing, 29 June 2026 – China has expanded export controls on Japanese entities, escalating tensions with Tokyo as the diplomatic dispute between the two Asian powers increasingly spills into trade, technology and national-security policy.

Beijing added 20 Japanese entities to an export control list covering dual-use goods, which are items that can have both civilian and military applications. Another 20 Japanese entities were placed on a watchlist, subjecting them to tighter scrutiny, licensing requirements and risk assessments for relevant exports.
