Shah Alam, 14 May 2026 – Gas Malaysia Berhad and Levidian Nanosystems Ltd have launched Asia Pacific’s first LOOP system, marking a significant step in the use of methane-to-graphene technology to support decarbonisation, cleaner energy solutions and advanced materials development in the region.
The LOOP system, developed by UK-based Levidian, has been installed within Gas Malaysia’s Natural Gas Distribution System. The system is capable of producing high-quality graphene from methane, while the residual hydrogen-rich gas can support cleaner energy applications. The deployment follows a memorandum of understanding signed by Gas Malaysia and Levidian in June 2025.
