Bank Negara, Bank Indonesia Sign MoU to Deepen Bilateral Central-Banking Cooperation

Kuala Lumpur, 11 May 2026 – Bank Negara Malaysia and Bank Indonesia have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two central banks, reinforcing Malaysia and Indonesia’s commitment to regional financial stability, payment-system connectivity and deeper cross-border collaboration.

The agreement establishes a broader framework for cooperation across key central-banking areas, including monetary policy, financial stability, macroprudential policy, payment systems, digitalisation, financial-sector development, capacity-building initiatives and information sharing.
