Federal Court Dismisses Former Patimas Director’s Leave Bid In Insider Trading Case

Kuala Lumpur, 2 July 2026 – The Federal Court has dismissed an application by former Patimas Computers Berhad executive director Dato’ Ng Back Heang for leave to appeal in an insider trading civil case, marking another legal victory for the Securities Commission Malaysia in its capital market enforcement efforts.

The decision leaves intact the Court of Appeal’s unanimous ruling on 2 September 2025, which had affirmed the High Court’s 2022 finding that Ng was liable for insider trading involving Patimas shares in 2012.
