Malaysia’s Trade Value May Reach RM3 Trillion Again as Export Momentum Holds

KUALA LUMPUR, 18 May 2026 – Malaysia’s total trade value could remain near the RM3 trillion mark this year, supported by stronger export activity, resilient imports and continued demand from key trading partners despite a more uncertain global trade environment.

The projection follows Malaysia’s historic trade performance in 2025, when total trade surpassed RM3 trillion for the first time, reaching RM3.061 trillion. That represented a 6.3% year-on-year increase and marked the country’s highest-ever value for trade, exports and imports.
