Los Angeles, 16 May 2026 – Artificial intelligence is quietly becoming part of Hollywood’s lower-level studio workflow, with assistants and support staff increasingly using AI tools for tasks ranging from emails and meeting notes to script coverage and development work.
A Hollywood Reporter feature found that assistants across studios, networks and agencies are using AI despite unease over what the technology could mean for their own careers. The report highlights a widening gap between official industry caution around AI and the reality that junior entertainment workers are already using the tools to keep up with heavier workloads and tighter staffing conditions.
