Subang Jaya: A routine traffic accident led to the discovery of methamphetamine worth approximately RM7 million. The incident unfolded on 13 August in SS17, when a car reportedly lost control and crashed. Responding to a public tip-off around 11.30 am, police arrived at the scene to find the vehicle abandoned—empty of both driver and passengers.
A closer inspection revealed a large quantity of drugs. Officers discovered four sacks containing 78 packages wedged in the back seat, alongside seven sacks holding an additional 130 packages in the trunk. In total, 208 plastic-wrapped packages were recovered, with a combined weight of 220.16 kg. The vehicle was also found to be fitted with a number plate that did not match its actual registration.
Police are now pursuing a 32-year-old man from Rantau Panjang, Kelantan, after finding an identity card inside the car. Authorities believe he remains within the country and are investigating his involvement, the accident circumstances, and the source of the drugs. Law enforcement has appealed to the public for any relevant information—including dashcam footage—and directed those with such leads to contact Inspector Mohamad Saifullah Rosdi or the nearest police station.
