MIDP Warns ‘People Debt’ Could Weaken Companies in the AI Era

Kuala Lumpur, 18 June 2026 – Malaysian companies entering the artificial-intelligence era may face a growing performance risk if they continue investing in technology while neglecting the people expected to use, manage and adapt to it.

The Malaysian Institute for Development of Professionals, or MIDP, has warned that “people debt” is becoming a serious issue for organisations navigating geopolitical uncertainty, rapid AI adoption and changing workforce expectations.
