San Francisco, 18 June 2026 – Meta Platforms is facing another leadership change inside its artificial-intelligence transformation effort, after Emily Dalton Smith, the executive overseeing product work for the company’s “AI for work” initiative, said she is leaving the company.
The departure comes at a sensitive moment for Meta, which has been trying to reshape both its products and internal operations around AI agents. Smith had recently been assigned to a key role in consolidating and improving the company’s internal AI tools, part of a broader plan to make artificial intelligence central to how employees work across the organisation.
