New Delhi, 3 July 2026 – Japan and India are moving to deepen their economic and strategic partnership as Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi push businesses on both sides to convert diplomatic alignment into concrete investment, technology and supply-chain deals.
The latest engagement produced more than 100 agreements between Japanese and Indian businesses, covering areas ranging from artificial intelligence, semiconductors and green energy to ammonia, agriculture and space cooperation. The breadth of the deals reflects how Tokyo and New Delhi are expanding their relationship beyond traditional trade into strategic industries that could shape Asia’s next phase of growth.
