SC Seeks Public Feedback On Corporate Governance Reforms To Strengthen Market Discipline

Kuala Lumpur, 3 July 2026 – The Securities Commission Malaysia is seeking public feedback on a new set of proposals aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s corporate governance ecosystem, with a focus on accountability, shareholder empowerment, board oversight and the governance of technology and artificial intelligence.

The regulator has published a consultation paper outlining four key proposals intended to reinforce the role of governance gatekeepers, improve transparency among public listed companies and promote stronger market discipline through more active shareholder participation.
