KUALA LUMPUR, 25 May 2026 – The ringgit opened firmer against the US dollar on Monday as improved market sentiment and renewed risk appetite supported demand for the local currency, with investors reacting positively to signs of possible progress in negotiations between the United States and Iran.
At 8am, the ringgit strengthened to 3.9635/9705 against the greenback, compared with Friday’s close of 3.9655/9700. The move reflected a softer US dollar and improved global market tone as traders assessed the possibility of easing geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
