New York, 6 October 2026 – The Nasdaq’s latest record has reinforced investor confidence in technology earnings, but the advance is also testing whether profit growth can continue to outrun higher bond yields, expensive valuations and a less predictable interest-rate path.

The Nasdaq Composite closed 1.05% higher, while the S&P 500 gained 0.66% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.18%. Nvidia rose 2.1% to another record, lifting its market value to about US$5.76 trillion. The move reflected continued demand for companies linked to artificial intelligence and optimism that third-quarter results will justify the capital committed to chips and data-centre infrastructure.
