Malaysia’s AI Defence Confidence Lags Cyber Incident Exposure, Cisco Report Finds

Malaysian organisations report high cyber-incident exposure but limited confidence in detecting compromised AI agents, putting visibility and team integration under scrutiny.

Kuala Lumpur, 6 October 2026 – Malaysian organisations are adopting artificial intelligence faster than many security teams can consolidate visibility, leaving a widening gap between confidence in AI defence and the frequency of business-disrupting cyber incidents.

A new Cisco security report found that only 53% of Malaysian organisations were very confident in their ability to detect and respond to a compromised AI agent. At the same time, 83% said they had experienced a material cyber incident that disrupted the business during the previous 12 months, with nearly one in three incidents involving an AI-enhanced attack.
