Kuala Lumpur, 6 February 2026 β De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan has officially introduced its highly anticipated Ramadan 2026 dining experience, reaffirming its position as a premier destination for heritage Malaysian cuisine with a curated menu that blends nostalgia, craftsmanship and refined culinary execution.
The unveiling took place during an exclusive media preview at the restaurantβs Bangsar Shopping Centre outlet, hosted by Datuk Chef Wan, Founder of the Chef Wan Group of Restaurants, alongside Andre Shum, Co-Founder, and Datuk Sri Kenneth Tan, Chairman of Oasis Harvest Corporation Berhad. The event brought together media representatives, invited guests and industry stakeholders, underscoring the significance of Ramadan as both a cultural and culinary moment in Malaysiaβs annual calendar.
Ramadan as a Celebration of Malaysian Culinary Identity
For Chef Wan, Ramadan is not merely a seasonal dining period but a reaffirmation of Malaysiaβs culinary identity. The Ramadan 2026 menu was personally curated to evoke familiar buka puasa experiences, dishes rooted in memory and tradition, elevated through professional technique and premium ingredients.
βFor Ramadan, food must bring people together,β Chef Wan said during the preview. βThese are dishes Malaysians recognise and grew up with. At De.Wan, we prepare them properly, with care and respect for tradition.β
This philosophy is reflected in the restaurantβs approach: rather than overwhelming guests with sheer volume, the Ramadan programme focuses on balance, allowing diners to experience the diversity of Malaysian flavours without compromising quality.

Live Stations and Regional Specialities Take Centre Stage
A defining feature of De.Wan 1958βs Ramadan offering is its emphasis on live cooking stations and regional classics, transforming the dining experience into an immersive culinary journey.
Among the highlights is the Live Penang Char Kuey Teow Station, where the iconic dish is freshly prepared to order, preserving its signature smoky wok aroma and texture. The menu also features Udang Galah Kalio, showcasing river prawns slow-cooked in rich, aromatic spices that reflect Malaysiaβs multi-layered culinary heritage.
Traditional Malaysian comfort foods are further celebrated through the Local Crepe (Lempeng) Station, offering both sweet and savoury condiments, and the Warung Tradisi & Bakar-bakar section, which includes ayam percik, lamb shank opor hijau, assorted satay, lemang buluh, nasi ulam diraja, and bubur lambuk, all staples of the Ramadan dining experience.
The offering is complemented by an extensive selection of traditional kuih-muih and sambal varieties, reinforcing the restaurantβs commitment to authenticity while maintaining refined presentation and preparation standards.

Two Distinct Ramadan Formats to Broaden Accessibility
Recognising the diverse dining preferences of modern Malaysian consumers, De.Wan 1958 has introduced two distinct Ramadan dining formats for 2026.
The Iconic Malaysian Evening Buffet, available at The LINC KL and Bangsar Shopping Centre, offers a comprehensive buka puasa experience. Priced from RM148 nett during pre-sale and RM198 nett at standard rates, the buffet reflects the restaurantβs premium positioning while remaining accessible to a broad audience seeking a curated heritage experience.
Meanwhile, the Iconic Malaysian Dulang Semi-Buffet, offered at The Exchange TRX, presents a more intimate shared-dining format. Starting from RM79 nett per adult, this option combines semi-buffet flexibility with traditional dulang-style communal dining, reflecting evolving consumer preferences toward more personalised and experiential dining

Strategic Positioning in Malaysiaβs Ramadan Dining Economy
Ramadan represents one of Malaysiaβs most important periods for the food and beverage sector, driving strong consumer demand across both casual and premium dining segments. De.Wan 1958βs Ramadan 2026 programme reflects a broader trend within Malaysiaβs hospitality industry β the shift toward curated, experience-driven dining anchored in cultural authenticity.
Chef Wanβs brand continues to leverage Malaysiaβs rich culinary diversity, positioning De.Wan 1958 not merely as a restaurant, but as a custodian of national culinary heritage. By combining heritage flavours with modern presentation and professional consistency, the brand aligns itself with Malaysiaβs growing emphasis on culinary tourism and cultural storytelling.
This positioning is particularly relevant as Malaysia prepares for Visit Malaysia 2026, where culinary heritage is expected to play a central role in attracting international visitors.
