Nvidia’s Jensen Huang to Join Tsinghua Advisory Board as China Ties Remain Strategically Crucial

Beijing, 28 May 2026 – Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang has agreed to join the advisory board of Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management, a move that underscores the chipmaker’s effort to maintain high-level ties in China despite continuing US export restrictions on advanced semiconductors.

The appointment places Huang within one of China’s most prominent academic-business advisory platforms. Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management board was founded in 2000 by former Chinese premier Zhu Rongji and has long served as a forum linking Chinese institutions with senior global business leaders. Its current and past participants include major technology and financial executives, with the board chaired by Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook and including figures such as Elon Musk, Satya Nadella and Jamie Dimon.
