Kuala Lumpur, 3 June 2026 – Bursa Malaysia began Wednesday’s session on a firmer note as investors returned from an extended market break with renewed bargain-hunting interest, supported by overnight gains on Wall Street and cautious optimism across regional equities.
The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rose 5.34 points, or 0.31%, to 1,688.41 as at 9.33am, compared with last Friday’s close of 1,683.07. The index had opened 4.06 points higher at 1,687.13, signalling a steadier start after Bursa Malaysia was closed on Monday and Tuesday for the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s birthday and the replacement holiday for Wesak Day.
