Gas Malaysia Positions Malaysia as ASEAN’s Graphene Hub With Asia-Pacific First Deployment

Kuala Lumpur, 3 June 2026 – Gas Malaysia Berhad is positioning Malaysia as a regional hub for graphene innovation following the deployment of Asia-Pacific’s first methane-to-graphene system, marking a major step in the company’s transformation from a gas distributor into a higher-value solutions and advanced materials ecosystem player.

The deployment was developed in collaboration with Levidian, a United Kingdom-based climate technology company whose LOOP technology converts methane into high-quality graphene and hydrogen-rich gas. The breakthrough allows Gas Malaysia to unlock new value from existing gas infrastructure while supporting cleaner and more efficient industrial applications.
