Casino Heir Mario Ho and Supermodel Ming Xi Celebrate Long-Awaited Wedding in France

PARIS, 2 June 2026 — Chinese supermodel Xi Mengyao and entrepreneur Mario Ho, son of the late Macau casino magnate Stanley Ho, have officially celebrated their long-awaited wedding ceremony in France, seven years after beginning their relationship.

The ceremony, themed “A Promise Fulfilled”, was described as Mario Ho’s gift to Ming Xi following seven years together. Although the couple registered their marriage in July 2019 and now have two children, a formal wedding celebration had been postponed following the death of Stanley Ho.

Luxury Wedding Reflects Business Dynasty Heritage

Details of the wedding quickly gained attention across Chinese social media, with reports revealing elaborate gift sets prepared for guests.

The gifts reportedly featured pink Mario-themed packaging bearing the initials “M&M” representing Ming and Mario, alongside silk travel accessories, luxury skincare products, perfume, scented candles and traditional wedding pastries.

The package also included Super Mario figurines of Mario and Princess Peach, echoing the “prince and princess” concept inspired by Ho’s highly publicised Mario-themed proposal in Shanghai in 2019.

Relationship Began on Reality Television

The couple first met on a Chinese reality dating programme in 2017 before later confirming their relationship publicly.

Their engagement drew widespread media attention in May 2019 after Mario Ho organised an elaborate proposal featuring thousands of roses and a castle-inspired backdrop at a Shanghai shopping mall.

The relationship has remained a subject of public interest due to the combination of Ming Xi’s international fashion career and the Ho family’s extensive business empire.

From Runways to One of Asia’s Most Powerful Families

Before marrying into the Ho family, Ming Xi had already established herself as one of China’s most recognised fashion models.

She has appeared on runways for major luxury brands including Victoria’s Secret, Givenchy, Michael Kors, Balmain and Karl Lagerfeld.

Chinese media have previously listed her among China’s top four supermodels alongside Liu Wen, Sun Feifei and Shu Pei.

The Ho Family Legacy

The marriage further links the global fashion industry with one of Asia’s most influential business dynasties.

The Ho family built a vast empire spanning casinos, hospitality and real estate, and once controlled Macau’s gambling industry through a monopoly that lasted nearly four decades.

According to Forbes estimates, the family’s fortune exceeds US$6.4 billion, while Bloomberg previously estimated Stanley Ho’s personal net worth at approximately US$14.9 billion in 2019, making him one of Asia’s wealthiest individuals at the time.

The wedding ceremony marks a new chapter for one of Asia’s most closely watched power couples, blending celebrity influence, luxury branding and business legacy on a global stage.
