Airbus Eyes Stronger Finish After Delivery Dip in First Eight Months

Europe, September 5, 2025 — Airbus reported a modest decline in aircraft deliveries for the first eight months of 2025, delivering 434 jets by August—down 3% year-on-year—even as it closes in on new orders and reaffirms its ambitious full-year target.

In August alone, Airbus delivered 61 aircraft—a solid performance marking about a 30% increase over the same month last year, highlighting improved output despite lingering supply chain issues.

The firm also disclosed that it booked 600 gross jet orders this year, with a net total of 504 after factoring in cancellations. Notably, Airbus secured an order for seven A350-1000s from an undisclosed client, and an Irish lessor, Avolon, added 90 jets to the tally following shareholder approval.

Airbus remains confident in its goal to deliver 820 aircraft by year-end—marking a 7% increase over its 2024 total of 766. However, achieving this will require a record-setting pace in the final quarter, demanding a significant ramp-up amid challenges like engine and cabin seat delays.

Despite the hurdles, Airbus’s leadership has voiced cautious optimism about meeting its targets, supported by improving supply chain visibility.
