AFFIN Group and Baiduri Bank Partner to Expand Cross-Border Banking and Trade Financing Between Malaysia and Brunei

Kuala Lumpur, 17 August 2026 – Malaysian financial services provider AFFIN Group and Baiduri Bank, the largest conventional bank in Brunei Darussalam, have entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a comprehensive cross-border banking corridor, expanding trade finance, treasury collaboration, and investment banking services between both ASEAN nations.

The bilateral partnership integrates AFFIN’s commercial footprint, investment banking infrastructure, and wealth management network in Malaysia with Baiduri Bank’s established domestic banking franchise in Brunei. By linking the two institutions, the agreement creates a direct financial conduit designed to support corporate enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses, and retail clients seeking cross-border trade, capital deployment, and business expansion across the Brunei-Malaysia corridor.
