Bus Cap and BYD Form Exclusive Alliance to Establish Perak-Based Electric Commercial Vehicle Platform

Shenzhen, 18 August 2026 – Malaysia’s first listed pure-play bus manufacturer, Bus Cap Berhad, has entered into an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with BYD Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. to establish a comprehensive domestic new energy commercial vehicle (NECV) platform, anchored by a proposed localized electric bus assembly and manufacturing plant in Perak.

The high-profile agreement was signed in Shenzhen and witnessed by Luo Zhongliang, Vice President of BYD and General Manager of the BYD Commercial Vehicle Division, signaling the global electric vehicle leader’s strategic commitment to expanding its commercial zero-emission vehicle footprint across Malaysia and the broader Southeast Asian region.
