Bengaluru, India, 24 September 2026 – US stock-index futures fell early Thursday as investors weighed renewed Middle East tension, firmer oil and bond yields, and the approaching meeting between Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping. At 5:25 a.m. Eastern Time, Dow futures were down 173 points, or 0.33%; S&P 500 futures declined 44.25 points, or 0.57%; and Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 309.75 points, or 1.01%. These were premarket indications, not closing moves.
The heavier decline in technology-linked futures reflected a broader repricing of growth-sensitive assets. Nvidia was down about 1% in premarket trading, Meta about 2%, and Marvell and Intel around 3% each, according to the source report. Higher long-term interest rates can weigh disproportionately on companies whose valuations depend on earnings far into the future. Airline and cruise shares also weakened as investors assessed what more expensive fuel could mean for operating costs and demand.
