New York, 7 October 2026 – SpaceX is reportedly seeking US$40 billion in external financing to purchase Nvidia artificial-intelligence chips, a proposed transaction that would rank among the most ambitious efforts yet to fund the computing capacity behind the global AI build-out.

The financing under discussion is said to comprise about US$10 billion in bank loans and US$30 billion in investment-grade debt. Apollo Global Management is expected to lead the package and help place the securities with a wider investor base, while bond manager Pimco is among lenders reported to be in talks. The transaction is expected to close in 2027, although the structure, pricing and final commitments have not been confirmed by the companies involved.
