MOE to Prioritize Anti-Bullying, Digital Education, and TVET in 2026 Budget

KUALA LUMPUR, August 29, 2025 — Malaysia’s Ministry of Education (MOE) has unveiled a set of core priorities in its upcoming Budget 2026 proposal, anchoring future education reforms around an anti-bullying framework, expanded digital learning, and bolstered technical and vocational education and training (TVET). Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek highlighted that these focus areas emerged from comprehensive consultations with stakeholders across the sector.

These strategic initiatives are designed to align with the broader national objectives laid out in the Malaysia Education Development Plan 2026–2035 and the forthcoming New School Curriculum slated for 2027. The anti‑bullying framework is expected to standardize policies and interventions across schools to safeguard student wellbeing, while digital education efforts will enhance online teaching infrastructure and e‑learning accessibility. At the same time, renewed emphasis on TVET aims to equip students with industry-relevant skills, supporting workforce readiness amid evolving economic demands.

In her announcement, Minister Fadhlina expressed gratitude to Finance Minister II, Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, for his receptiveness to the Ministry’s proposals during their recent discussions. She underscored that Budget 2026, the fourth installment under the Madani series, will prioritize fiscal resilience, economic fundamentals, and enhancements in national living standards in line with the Madani Economic Framework.

The broader Malaysian public will receive this national budget when Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tables the Budget Bill in the Dewan Rakyat at 4 pm on October 10, 2025.
