New Delhi, 19 September 2026 – Tata Electronics’ collaboration with Malaysia-linked Kelington Group will bring specialist engineering support to the planned US$11 billion semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera, Gujarat, strengthening a project designed to give India a larger role in the global chip supply chain. Kelington is expected to support critical infrastructure and systems as the facility moves towards operational readiness for silicon-wafer production.
The planned 12-inch, or 300-millimetre, fab is intended to manufacture chips for automotive, mobile and artificial-intelligence applications serving domestic and international customers. That mix places the project at the intersection of several supply chains that Asian governments and manufacturers are trying to make more resilient. For Tata Electronics, the agreement adds execution capability around the utilities and controlled environments required by advanced manufacturing. For Kelington, it extends the relevance of Malaysian engineering expertise into one of India’s largest industrial-technology investments.
