Putrajaya, 27 June 2026 – The Malaysian government has announced a RM1.5 million allocation to expand access to Syariah legal aid services, reinforcing its commitment to improving justice delivery while protecting the constitutional rights of all Malaysians.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the allocation will support individuals who are unable to afford Syariah legal representation, particularly lower-income groups, the poor and single mothers. The funding will be channelled to the Syariah Lawyers Association of Malaysia through the Syariah Legal Aid Centre, known as Bagus.
