Mountain View, 22 September 2026 – Google has opened pre-orders for a new family of AI-focused Googlebook laptops starting at US$899, placing its Gemini software at the centre of a premium computer proposition. The launch involves models from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo. For investors, the question is whether integrated AI functions can lift demand and pricing in a PC market where hardware specifications alone are increasingly easy to compare.
The announced range starts at US$899 and extends to roughly US$1,299, depending on model and configuration. Google identified chip partners including Intel, Qualcomm and MediaTek, with options such as Intel Core Ultra Series 3 and Snapdragon X Elite. The company also describes a baseline of at least 16GB of memory. Those are product-family attributes; buyers should check an individual model’s specification before assuming every machine uses the same processor or price point.
