Can Tho, 4 October 2026 – Construction has begun on an integrated rice-processing complex designed to connect one of Vietnam’s most important agricultural supply chains with biomass power generation, advancing a circular-economy model that could improve both milling efficiency and energy security in the Mekong Delta.

Green CT Company’s project is planned with annual rice-processing capacity of 500,000 tonnes and is one of five complexes envisioned under the wider development programme. The facility will use modern processing technology while directing rice husks, a major by-product of milling, into the biomass fuel supply chain rather than treating them as low-value agricultural waste. For investors, that linkage is significant because it combines two recurring regional needs: higher-value food processing and dependable feedstock for renewable electricity.
