Bursa Malaysia Opens Higher as Selective Buying Supports Early Trade

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 May 2026 – Bursa Malaysia opened higher today as selective buying in key counters helped support the local market despite a mixed overnight performance on Wall Street.

At 9.10am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rose 2.00 points to 1,729.71 from Monday’s close of 1,727.71. The benchmark index had opened 5.17 points higher at 1,732.88, suggesting that early buying momentum remained present even as investors continued to assess external market signals.
