Kuala Lumpur, 1 November 2026 – Cryptocurrency exchange Binance is in discussions with the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) over a possible licensed business model, potentially opening a route back into Malaysia more than five years after authorities ordered it to cease local operations. However, regulatory approval, investor protection, compliance standards and the treatment of ringgit transactions remain important considerations before any formal return can take place.
