Asian Stocks Wobble After Tech-Led Selloff as Investors Brace for Renewed Volatility

Tokyo, 24 June 2026 – Asian equities traded unevenly on Wednesday as investors reassessed risk after a sharp technology-led selloff across global markets, with semiconductor valuations, artificial intelligence spending and renewed interest-rate concerns keeping sentiment fragile.

MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan slipped 0.02%, reflecting a cautious regional tone after volatility swept through Wall Street and major Asian markets. South Korean shares rebounded 2.2% after plunging 10% in the previous session, while Japan’s Nikkei moved between gains and losses before trading lower by around 0.8%.
