Asian Stocks Set to Follow US Gains as Softer Inflation Eases Rate Fears

Singapore, 15 July 2026 – Asian equities are poised to track gains on Wall Street after softer United States inflation data reduced expectations of an imminent interest-rate increase, easing pressure on risk assets and improving investor sentiment across global markets.

The improved tone came after US consumer inflation cooled more than expected in June, strengthening hopes that policymakers may have more room to keep rates unchanged at the next policy meeting. Headline inflation slowed to 3.5% year-on-year, while core inflation, which excludes food and energy, held at 2.6%.
