Singapore Economy Expands 5.7% in Second Quarter as AI Demand Lifts Manufacturing

Singapore, 14 July 2026 – Singapore’s economy expanded by 5.7% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, slightly exceeding market expectations as strong artificial intelligence-related demand supported semiconductor production and advanced manufacturing.

The pace of expansion eased from 6.3% in the first quarter but remained broadly resilient despite growing uncertainty surrounding global trade, energy supplies and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
